Donny Rovers Saver nets £10,520

Doncaster Rovers received a cheque for £10,520 from the Society at their home match with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 10th April at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The Donny Rovers Saver Account is an exclusive account for supporters of Doncaster Rovers, only available through Leeds Building Society. By saving money in the Donny Rovers saver account fans are helping Doncaster Rovers. Each year Leeds Building Society presents a cheque to Doncaster Rovers, the amount of which is based on the cumulative balance of funds within every Donny Rovers Saver account (1 percent of the total balances in the account at the end of the year).

The more that fans save, the more Doncaster Rovers receives and with tiered interest rates, the higher the interest customers will receive on their savings. Since the launch of the Donny Rovers Saver in July 2004 over £27,000 has been donated to Doncaster Rovers Football Club.

Leeds Building Society Chief Executive Ian Ward said “I was very pleased to attend the recent match between Doncaster and West Brom and present the 2009 affinity payment to Doncaster Rovers Managing Director Stuart Highfield. The facilities at the Keepmoat Stadium are superb; the team played very well and were unlucky to lose on the day. I am passionate about supporting grassroots football in our heartland’s and this £10,520 donation will go towards helping youth development at the club.”

Doncaster Rovers Managing Director Stuart Highfield said “We were delighted to welcome representatives from Leeds Building Society to the Keepmoat stadium for our recent home match with West Brom. The Donny Rovers saver is a great account and I would encourage any fans who have not already opened an account to do so as soon as possible.

“The account is now in its sixth season and continues to go from strength to strength. This £10,520 donation is the largest annual affinity payment we have received since the launch of the Donny Rovers Saver. We are now working with Leeds Building Society on new initiatives to ensure that this time next year the large presentation cheque we receive is over £15,000!”
