The Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS) numbers released today show that Leeds Building Society has delivered positive net lending of £197m in Q1 2013. Furthermore, the UK’s 5th largest building society’s gross lending in Q1 was the highest in its history.

Kim Rebecchi, Sales & Marketing Director said, “During 2012 and the first quarter this year, we have completed mortgages totalling over £2bn, well above our natural market share.

“Completions in Q1 this year are 35% higher than the same period in 2012, at over £425m, which is a record for the Society. We have lent £138m of this, over 32%, to 1,450 first-time-buyers and this is an increase in value of over 66% compared to Q1 in 2012.

“Whilst retail savings remain at the core of our funding requirements, and will continue to do so, FLS has supported our organic growth aspirations.”
