Leeds Building Society supports BBC Children in Need Appeal
Leeds Building Society is planning a variety of events this Friday, 15th November, to support the 2013 BBC Children in Need Appeal. The events are taking place both in Head Office and throughout the Society’s 14 branches in Leeds. Members of the public can also make a donation towards Children in Need at any branch of Leeds Building Society.
The Society is having a ‘dress down day’ where staff in Head Office and branches will donate £2 to the Children in Need Appeal to wear their own clothes for the day. For the more adventurous a ‘dress up day’ is taking place, also in return for a £2 donation, with fancy dress encouraged.
Activities planned so far at the mutual’s Head Office, on 105 Albion Street, include Pudsey Bear and ‘Wild Bill the Texas Ranger’ shaking their Children in Need collection buckets throughout the day. Also on Friday the Society’s product development team will be making tea for everyone for 50p a cup, with their colleagues in HR assisting by making cakes and buns for them to sell with their deliveries.
Furthermore, Pat Dodd (from the Society’s IT Support team) sells books from The Book Club and in return she receives free books to the value of 10% of orders placed each month. Pat has been storing these since the last Children In Need appeal and will be doing her rounds of Head Office on the day selling raffle tickets. Pat said, “Over the last three years I have raised over £700 for Children in Need - a big thank you to everyone who has bought raffle tickets in the past.” Ends
