Leeds Building Society appoints new non-executive Director

Leeds Building Society has appointed Susan Cooklin as a non-executive Director.

She joins the Society Board with immediate effect, alongside four Executive Directors and eight non-executive Directors, led by Chairman Robin Ashton.

Susan is currently Group Chief Information Officer at Network Rail and holds a non-executive Director position on the Board of Leeds Metropolitan University.

Commenting on her appointment, Susan said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board of Leeds Building Society at an exciting time of change and progress for the business.

“Over 20 years of my career has been spent in financial services. The mutual model, and the integrity of building societies within this sector, is one with which I very much identify.”

Robin Ashton, Leeds Building Society’s Chairman, said: “We have strengthened our Board with the appointment of Susan Cooklin as a non-executive Director.

“Susan has extensive experience of leading large and complex change across business and IT teams in the financial services and transport sectors, and this will be invaluable as we continue with our successful programme of investment and innovation to sustainably develop the business and offer good value and excellent service to our growing number of members.”
