Wetherby and Boston Spa branches raise over £800 for St Michael's Hospice

Customer advisor (and dog lover) Elaine Green of Leeds Building Society's Wetherby branch decided that a sponsored dog walk ("woofs & wellies") being run by St. Michael's Hospice would be an ideal opportunity for both her Wetherby and Boston Spa branch colleagues to give something back to the community.

The well organised event started in ideal weather conditions from the Yorkshire Showground and the 6.5km route took everybody through the lovely countryside around Crimple Valley.

At roughly the half way stage the dogs were treated to ice cream at St Michael's Hospice which was on the route, (very welcome indeed) and yet another surprise was in store at the finish where all the dogs received a present!

Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the event and the Wetherby and Boston Spa branches of Leeds Building Society raised £860 in total for the charity.
