Leeds raises over £1,600 for Martin House Children's Hospice

Leeds Building Society raised £1,650 by entering two teams for the fifth year running in the Dragon Boat Race at Roundhay Park. The total fundraising amount, which includes £400 in matched funding from Leeds Building Society, will go to Wetherby based Martin House Children's Hospice. The Society entered one team from its Head Office, and also a team from its Garforth branch. There was keen competition involved between the two crews.

The event was organised by Clover Chinner, from the Society's Systems Development team who said: "This was our 5th year at the event and once again a great day for all of us. The fine weather was a bonus, and we joined together with different areas of the business to raise funds for a fantastic cause with the support of everyone at Leeds Building Society."

In addition to providing £400 in matched funding, Leeds Building Society also paid the £600 entrance fees for the teams. Any further donations can be made via justgiving at www.justgiving.com/LBS-Dragons2014.
