Dewsbury runner raises £1,000 for charity

A Customer Service Advisor from Leeds Building Society's Dewsbury branch raised £1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK by taking part in Sunday's Great North Run.

Amy Marsden successfully completed the 13.1 mile course from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields in two hours and 26 minutes, raising £1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK - including £400 in matched funding from Leeds Building Society.

Amy said: "I took part in the Great North Run alongside my dad, partner, sister, brother-in-law and cousin. It was a fantastic day but very busy and very hot.

"We chose to run for this charity as my Grandad had prostate cancer for 10 years, and died in February 2013. Since his death we have done a variety of events in his memory for Prostate Cancer UK.

"I am delighted to have raised £1,000 in total, and would like to thank everyone who sponsored me and Leeds Building Society for providing matched funding."
