Guide Dogs charity night this Friday

The team at the Wallsend branch of Leeds Building Society are holding a fundraising night, at the Prince of Wales pub on Waterloo Road in Blyth, for the Guide Dogs charity on Friday 9th October.

Margaret Calvert, Assistant Manager at Leeds Building Society's Wallsend branch said: "The event starts at 7pm on Friday night and marks the culmination of National Guide Dogs week. It's a curry and chilli karaoke evening. The tickets are £3.50 which includes live entertainment, drag queen comedy, live music and flame throwers. The price also includes food.

"The tickets are laminated and wrapped around smarties tubes. The idea of this is for people to enjoy the sweets, but fill the empty tubes with their loose change. We will also be running Irish bingo, domino cards and name the puppy competitions. All proceeds raised on the night will be going to the guide dogs charity."

Colleagues from Leeds Building Society's branches in the North East have pledged the results of all their fundraising activity this year to help Guide Dogs, and have been tackling a variety of challenges to bring in the cash.

In addition, Leeds Building Society's North East branches in Morpeth, Durham, Blyth, Whitley Bay, North Shields, South Shields, Wallsend, Newcastle and Chester-le-Street, and the Society's processing centre at Silverlink Business Park, are selling Guide Dogs pin badges throughout the year.
