Charitable donation to Appletree Childcare

Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation has donated £965 to a Sheffield charity which cares for children, including those with additional needs.

Appletree Childcare has used the donation to buy equipment for its outdoor area, including sensory toys, soft blocks, sand and water trays and toys and chalk boards.

This equipment will help the children to socialise with one another and improve their motor and cognitive skills.

Janet Parkin, Chief Executive Officer at Appletree Childcare, said: “It is really important that children spend time outside and that they have stimulating activities.

“This grant has enabled us to buy some lovely resources that will help all our children, including those most disadvantaged, to develop. We are very grateful to Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation for their support.”

Emma Cooper, Branch Manager at Leeds Building Society’s Sheffield branch, visited Appletree Childcare to meet their staff, members, children and volunteers.

“The Charitable Foundation is delighted to make this donation and support Appletree Childcare,” said Emma.

“The Society and our members fund Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation, and this donation fits with our commitment to doing what’s right for our members, colleagues and communities.”
