Changing of the guard for mutual in Barnsley
John Mosley retires today after 18 years as Leeds Building Society’s Branch Manager in Barnsley.
John joined the branch at 2 Peel Square as manager in 1999.
Chris Ord, Leeds Building Society Regional Manager, said: “John has built up a branch known for offering a friendly environment where excellent customer service is standard.
“The relationship between colleagues and customers in the branch is exceptional, loyal and generates many personal recommendations.
“John has developed many successful links with individuals and local businesses within the town.
“He has also organised volunteering days and fundraising activities with various charities including Mission Christmas (Hallam FM), Barnsley Hospice, Barnsley Dementia Society (BIADS), Marie Curie and Macmillan Cancer Support.”
John Mosley said: “I have been very fortunate to meet many great people, build fantastic business relationships and rapport with many of our members and work with a number of brilliant and knowledgeable colleagues.
“The majority of my team have worked with me for many years and they believe in the society’s values and demonstrate these on a daily basis.
“When I started working in Barnsley the branch was working on a very small customer base, now it is one of the busiest and most successful branches in the society’s network and I feel proud to have played a major part in that.
“The one thing I will miss most is the daily contact with both customers and colleagues.”
John will be replaced from Monday by Rowan Evans, who currently manages the Society’s Adel branch in Leeds.
