Helping hands from Leeds team keep it local
Colleagues from Leeds Building Society’s Sale branch have been busy fundraising and volunteering to support a good cause in their community.
Stockdales is a Manchester-based charity which supports local children and adults with learning disabilities.
Volunteering activities for the five colleagues included painting a new office and the corridors at Stockdales of Sale. The team also helped to mail out the charity’s latest newsletter.
They were taking advantage of the mutual’s volunteering scheme, which allows all Society employees a day’s paid leave each year to help a good cause of their choice.
“As well as the volunteering for Stockdales, we also held a raffle in the branch and our generous customers helped us raise £150,” said Martin Bartlett, Assistant Manager at Leeds Building Society’s Sale branch.
Sally Laffan from Stockdales said: “It’s great that a local business is supporting Stockdales and making a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities in their local community.
“We look forward to continuing to work together. Thank you so much everyone.”
