Job Title: Designer/Mac Operator

Main purpose of job
To create/undertake amendments to the Society’s portfolio of printed marketing material.
Key Accountabilities
- Create new designs to support the launch and ongoing promotion of products via a variety of media including press, branch campaigns, point of sale leaflets and display materials etc, in accordance with the Society’s Brand Guidelines, to achieve stand-out against competitors and in the marketplace in general.
- Carry out changes/amendments to the Society’s range of printed marketing material, including flyers, leaflets, posters and other POS items, in accordance with the Society’s Brand Guidelines.
- Liase with third party suppliers to ensure the timely production of the Society’s printed material.
- Undertake ad-hoc design work as requested by other departments.
- In conjunction with the Marketing Communications Manager, maintain and develop the Society’s Brand Guidelines.
- Ensure the integrity of the Society’s Apple Mac and associated hardware/software by ensuring regular back-ups are undertaken in accordance with documented procedures.
- Manage and maintain the Society’s library of images, including organisation of photo-shoots as required.
- Be aware of other competitors and what/how they are promoting their products.
- Be fluent in using Quickcut and preparing artwork for press.

Qualifications Skills & Experience
- Good knowledge of:
- Quark Xpress
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Macromedia Freehand
- Adobe Acrobat
- Quickcut
- Good knowledge of printing process and prepartion of artwork for print.
- Familiarity with MS Office suite
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
