Our colleagues donate £500 to help out school

Pupils at a school which was severely damaged by heavy rain have been given a gift from generous Leeds Building Society colleagues.

Colleagues at our branch in Whitley Bay have donated £500 to Langley First School so it can buy a display screen to showcase the children’s work and photographs.

The West Monkseaton School was completely flooded during a thunderstorm last June with the building being closed from that day until the new term in September.

Headteacher Tim Jones said, “It is thanks to the generosity of businesses like Leeds Building Society that we were able to get the school turned around in such a short space of time after the terrible flood last June.”
