Brake and local police working with the Society in Chester Le Street

Coleen Davie, Branch Manager at the Chester le Street branch of Leeds Building Society, said “The Chester Le Street team have been heavily involved within the community, and this is a picture of local school children and the Durham police in road safety week sponsored by the charity Brake. We were recording the speed of passing traffic on a road near the school and town centre. The children gave a ‘thumbs up’ if a car was driving within speed restrictions, or a ‘thumbs down’ if a car was speeding! We then passed the registration numbers of the speeding cars to the local police. One of the boys taking part spotted his grandfather speeding!”
