Society colleagues and members help the BHF fight for every heartbeat

For those members voting in our Annual General Meeting (AGM) we donated 10p for every postal vote and 20p for every internet vote. Almost 80,000 members voted, resulting in a donation of more than £9,000 shared between this year's charities - Help for Heroes, World Wide Fund for Nature, St George's Crypt, Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation and the British Heart Foundation (BHF). That takes the total donated for AGM votes cast by members to more than £70,000 since 2008.

In addition to this support from our members at the AGM, colleagues across our national branch network also supported the BHF by promoting the charity's red heart pin badges during Heart Month. Furthermore, our Head Office in Leeds took part in BHF's 'Ramp Up The Red' day, with colleagues dressing up in red for the event. In total, these two fundraising initiatives raised £1,700.
