Society provides volunteers to Lineham Farm

Our Management Information, Decision Support and Planning teams spent a sunny day volunteering at Lineham Farm, a residential outdoor activity centre for able and disabled children in Eccup, Leeds.

Swapping the whiteboard for wellies and spreadsheets for spades they worked to cut back and clear undergrowth and trees, weeds and make the sensory gardens safe. They also staked saplings, cleaned the kitchens and shovelled steaming hay from the fields onto the tractor.

These every day practical tasks are as much a part of keeping Lineham Farm going as the monetary donations they receive, and the team went home with a deep sense of satisfaction and accomplishment at what they had had achieved in a single day by pooling their skills and efforts.
