Society volunteers support community projects in the Leeds area
Forty Society colleagues have swapped the office for the great outdoors by giving their time to support local good causes in the Leeds area.
Jobs they tackled included clearing footpaths, cutting back vegetation and scrub around valuable heathland, building a wooden summer house, and clearing nature pathways for better access.
The volunteers from the Society’s Decision Support, Credit Risk and Business Intelligence teams supported projects at Otley Chevin, Herd Farm Activity Centre and Meanwood Park respectively.
The many regular users and visitors to these locations will benefit from the improvements made by the Society’s volunteers, and the wildlife will have an enhanced habitat.
Leeds Building Society offers every colleague a day’s paid leave each year to volunteer in the community. This is a great way for colleagues to support their local communities, and also can work as a fantastic team building exercise.
