Donate to help those affected by the war in Ukraine

by Leeds Building Society

Like many people, we continue to be moved by the humanitarian consequences as the war in Ukraine unfolds.

We’ve already donated a total of £35,000 to help the Ukrainian people and families affected.

Now we’re also committing to match 50% of the donations from Society members and colleagues* to help people in this crisis.

How we've helped so far

We’ve donated £25,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) which has launched a unified humanitarian appeal for those fleeing Ukraine. This has provided food, water, clothing, and other support for Ukrainians whose lives have been devastated by this conflict.

We’ve also donated a further £10,000 to the Leeds Together for Ukraine appeal. This money will be used to provide accommodation support and other help to Ukrainian refugees as they build new lives in Leeds after fleeing their homeland.

Working together to help others

Now we’re going further by donating 50% of donations made by our members and colleagues to the DEC appeal, up to a total of £25,000.

This means for every £1 you donate either in a branch or via the DEC online, we’ll donate an extra 50p*.

How to donate

Donation buckets are available in all our branches – for details of your local branch and to find out opening hours, visit our branch finder.

To donate online, you can do so here.

All donations large or small will help those in need. As a mutual organisation we were founded on the principle of people helping people, so we’re grateful for your support.

* We’ll 50% match-fund individual donations of £400 or less from Leeds Building Society members and colleagues, up to a total of £25,000.
