Leeds receives hat trick of awards for its innovation

Leeds Building Society has received three prestigious awards for its innovative approach. The mutual has just received the ‘Mortgage Innovation Award’ and been named ‘Most Innovative Personal Finance Provider’ at the Moneynet Personal Finance Awards 2014. The fourth annual Moneynet awards recognise the top personal finance providers and products from the last 12 months, with Leeds winning two out of the four innovation categories.

These recent accolades closely follow the Society receiving the ‘Innovation Award for Lenders’ at the recent Mortgage Finance Gazette Awards.

A key contributing factor to all three awards was Leeds Building Society’s unique ‘Welcome Mortgage’, launched in summer 2013, which offers customers the option of paying 0% on the first 3 or 6 months of their mortgage, with the remaining monthly payments at a competitive fixed rate for up to 2, 3 or 5 years. Furthermore, to complement this range last autumn the mutual introduced a £200 cashback incentive on its ‘Welcome Mortgage’ range.

Kim Rebecchi, Leeds Building Society Sales and Marketing Director said, “These prestigious accolades and awards received by the Society provide confirmation that we are delivering on our strategy of supporting a wide range of borrowers and savers, whilst delivering excellent customer service.”

Steve Pavis of Moneynet Ltd said, “Despite the low base rate environment and uncertain economic conditions there have been some stand out best buy deals, and we are again pleased to recognise the top providers and innovators for their achievements.

“Customers are faced with too many below average personal finance products to sift through, but these awards prove that there are still some stand out deals to be had.”
