Leeds Talent Manager raises 670 pounds for Alzheimer’s Society

A Learning and Development professional at Leeds Building Society joined 10,000 runners at Sunday’s Yorkshire Marathon for a cause very close to his heart.

David Murray, Talent Manager at the Society, completed the event through York and the surrounding countryside in a time of 4 hours and 24 minutes.

His efforts, in sunny weather with the occasional shower, raised £670 for Alzheimer’s Society – including £250 in matched funding from Leeds Building Society.

“My wife’s parents both have dementia, and before moving into a specialist care home they received invaluable help and support from Alzheimer’s Society.

“They particularly enjoyed their Memory Cafe and Singing for the Brain group. By fundraising I hope other people will be able to benefit from the support the Alzheimer’s Society can give.

“I only joined Leeds Building Society in September, so I’m incredibly grateful to them for providing £250 in matched funding.”
