Fundraising via Leeds branches nets over £3,800 for Candlelighters
Assistant managers from Leeds Building Society’s branches in and around the city have joined forces to raise £3,864 for a local cancer charity.
The 13 colleagues organised and took part in events including sky dives, sponsored walks, tombolas, raffles, cake sales and a guess the name of the bear competition.
The money raised will help Candlelighters continue to support children with cancer and their families.
To celebrate this donation, the Society fundraisers were joined at their Head Office by the charity’s corporate fundraiser.
Brian Curran from Candlelighters said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have the support of colleagues from Leeds Building Society.
“The events they’ve held raised a considerable amount of money to enable us to continue to support children with cancer and their families.”
Chhaya Lilapurwala, Assistant Manager at Harehills Road branch, said: “Everyone enjoyed taking part in the events whilst raising funds for a great cause. We’d like to thank colleagues and customers for their support and donations.”
