LBS helps homeowners affected by stricter mortgage criteria

Leeds Building Society has reaffirmed its commitment to help longstanding borrowers currently unable to move to an alternative product due to stricter mortgage affordability criteria.

Richard Fearon, Chief Commercial Officer at Leeds Building Society, said: “We welcome the launch of this voluntary commitment. We’ve already implemented all of the steps ahead of the launch of the agreement and are happy to commit to this course of action publicly and be named as a signatory from day one.”

The voluntary agreement was launched today by UK Finance, the Building Societies Association and the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association, following the Financial Conduct Authority’s interim Mortgage Market Study.
