Leeds team raises over £17,000 for Alzheimer’s Society

A team of 13 colleagues from Leeds Building Society has completed a Coast to Coast cycle from Whitehaven to Sunderland.

This 140-mile distance was chosen due to the Society celebrating its 140th anniversary this year.

The cyclists beat their original fundraising target of £14,000, raising £17,400 for Alzheimer’s Society, the care and research charity for people with dementia and their carers.

Hannah Wright, Alzheimer’s Society Senior Regional Corporate Partnership Executive – North, said: “A huge thank you to all the staff at Leeds Building Society who have taken on the challenge to cycle, dress up, bake and raffle their way to fundraising success. They have beaten their original target to raise over £17,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society, which is a fantastic achievement. Thank you for helping us in our vison for a world without dementia.”
