Green-fingered Society volunteers help at local school

Colleagues from our branches used their volunteering leave to tidy a memorial garden at Chellow Heights Special School in Bradford.

The area had become overgrown over the winter, so the mutual’s volunteers got it ready for use again in the spring.

Activities for the four colleagues included gardening, digging out weeds, cutting back bushes and painting a fence.

“When I saw the revamped memorial garden I was staggered at the difference,” said Katie Hansard, Family Support Worker and Charity Fundraiser at Chellow Heights School.

“The Leeds Building Society volunteers did a fantastic job in just a few short hours.”
