Cashback Scheme Rules

  1. Introduction and Definitions
The cashback rules (“rules”) set out the basis on which you can earn and receive monthly cashback.
  2. How do we calculate your Cashback?
Your monthly Cashback will be calculated according to the amount of eligible purchases you make during a statement period. By “eligible purchases” we mean any card purchases you or an additional cardholder make, excluding purchases that are subsequently returned or refunded, balance transfers, cheque purchases, insurance premiums, interest, default charges, other fees and charges, and any item charged to your cash balance. By “statement period” we mean the period of transactions covered by the relevant statement you receive in relation to your Barclaycard account.
  3. Subject to clause 4, your rate of Cashback can be seen on your monthly statement.
  4. What are the circumstances in which we may cancel your Cashback?
We may cancel any monthly Cashback you would otherwise have earned if you breach the Barclaycard Conditions or if your account is closed. A breach of the Barclaycard Conditions includes a failure to make your monthly minimum payment by the payment due date, exceeding your credit limit or having a cheque, direct debit or other item returned unpaid.
  5. Losing your entitlement to future cashback
we may suspend or terminate your right to earn Cashback in the following circumstances:
    1. If you breach your Leeds Building Society Card Conditions for two consecutive statement periods,
    2. If you have asked us for time to pay overdue payments on the account,
    3. If mail we send you is being returned to us,
    4. If bankruptcy proceedings have been started against you,
    5. If we suspect that you or any additional cardholder have committed a fraud on the account, or
    6. If you have made no transactions on your account for more than 12 months.
  6. How will you receive your cashback?
We will credit your account with the value of your monthly Cashback on or after the end of the relevant statement period.
  7. Refunds
If you are given a refund for an eligible purchase and we had included that eligible purchase when working out the value of a previous Cashback, we will take the refund into account when working out your future Cashback.
  8. Changes to these rules
We may change these rules, including the rate at which you earn your Cashback, or withdraw the Cashback scheme, by giving you notice. By notice we mean 30 days’ advance notice in writing. By writing we include written communications in electronic form. If the change is to your advantage, instead of giving you advance notice we may make the change and tell you afterwards. If we withdraw the scheme we will credit you with the amount of the Cashback due to you at the date that the scheme is withdrawn.
