3rd June 2013 | FLS supports record lending at Leeds Building Society
The Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS) numbers released today show that Leeds Building Society has delivered positive net lending of £197m in Q1 2013. 31st May 2013 | Leeds offers market leading fixed rate mortgage range
Leeds Building Society’s 2 year fixed rate mortgage is market leading at 2.09% between 60% and 65% LTV and at 2.34% from 66% to 75% LTV. The rate has been reduced by 0.15% to a market leading 2.69% between 76% and 80% LTV. 23rd May 2013 | Leeds cuts rate on market leading 5-year fixed rate mortgage
Leeds Building Society has reduced the rate on its 5-Year Fixed Rate mortgage, available between 70% and 80% loan to value (LTV), by 0.10% to only 3.19%. 17th May 2013 | Leeds reduces first time buyer mortgage in North Hertfordshire by up to 0.50%
Leeds Building Society has reduced the rate on its 5 Year Fixed Rate Local Authority Mortgage Scheme (LAMS) mortgage with North Hertfordshire District Council by 0.50%, to 4.99%, which is available up to 95% LTV. 13th May 2013 | Jonathan Bell is the employee of the year at Leeds Building Society
Jonathan Bell has been crowned as the overall winner of the prestigious Excellence in Action Annual Award at Leeds Building Society. The prize is worth £1,000 and is awarded annually to the member of staff who has consistently excelled throughout the year and performed at a level above their role. The Excellence in Action awards scheme was launched by the Society in 1999 and this is the 13th Annual Award. 2nd May 2013 | Leeds reduces first time buyer mortgage by up to 0.50%
Leeds Building Society has reduced the rate on its 5 Year Fixed Rate Local Authority Mortgage Scheme (LAMS) mortgage by 0.50%, to 4.99%, which is available up to 95% LTV. Leeds, the only LAMS provider to offer a 5 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage, has also launched a 3 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage at 4.29%, also available up to 95% LTV. 24th April 2013 | John Manship retires after 44 Years service with Leeds Building Society
John Manship has retired from Leeds Building Society after a career spanning over 44 years. He joined, straight from school aged 18, on 1st October 1968 as a Cashier Clerk at the Society’s Sheffield branch, the city where he was also born and educated to A-Level standard. John left his hometown in 1976 to move to Dewsbury, as the Society’s Branch Manager. He lived in Mirfield for a number of years and has lived in Ossett since 1989. John has been married twice, his current wife is Therese and he has a son, Oliver, and two step-sons Ben and Tom. 18th April 2013 | Leeds Building Society helps Tiny Lives help the Tiniest Toes
Tiny Lives is delighted to be working again in 2013 with Leeds Building Society whose employees are raising funds for premature and ill newborn babies in the region. In 2012, 72 colleagues at the administrative office and contact centre at Silverlink, and 53 colleagues in the 11 branches across the region and branches across the UK, fundraised for Tiny Lives. 2nd April 2013 | 4 days to go until the end of the tax year
The current tax year finishes this Friday, 5th April, so there is only a few days left to open a tax free account (from a minimum balance of £1) or top up this year’s subscription to the maximum of £5,640 (2012/ 2013 ISA allowance). Using the ISA allowance in full means standard rate taxpayers can benefit from an extra 20% interest, with higher rate taxpayers receiving an extra 40% interest. 20th March 2013 | Nottingham branch of Leeds Building Society raises £40 on Red Nose Day
Staff at the Nottingham branch of Leeds Building Society raised £40 on Red Nose Day 2013 to raise funds for Comic Relief. The team in the branch, at 23 Listergate, raised these funds by wearing animal themed onesies, holding a homemade bake sale of cakes and cookies and by asking their customers to name the teddy bear to win as a prize. Staff at the Silverlink office of Leeds Building Society raised £215 on Red Nose Day 2013 to raise funds for Comic Relief. 20th March 2013 | Leeds reduces rate to market leading 2.09% on 2 year fixed rate mortgage
Leeds Building Society has reduced the rate on its 2 year fixed rate mortgage by 0.15% to a new, market leading rate of just 2.09% available up to 65% LTV. Furthermore, there is no higher lending charge and 10% capital repayments are allowed each year without penalty. There are also versions available, delivering exactly the same flexibility and following rate reductions of up to 0.16%, at 2.49% up to 75% LTV, 2.99% between 76% and 80% LTV and at 3.85% between 81% and 85% LTV. Leeds Building Society, the UK’s 5th largest, contributes a lot to the communities in which it works through charitable fundraising, and many of its colleagues are already actively volunteering in their spare time. 7th January 2013 | Leeds Building Society launches New Year sale mortgage range
Leeds Building Society has transformed its current 2 Year fixed rate mortgage deals into a range of New Year sale products, where customers can save over £1,100. The completion fee of £800 has been removed and a free standard valuation up to £335 added. In addition, the Society is offering free legal services for standard re-mortgages.
