2025 Annual Results: strong performance supported by continued improvements in broker service
We’re proud to report a strong 2025, a year that marked our 150th anniversary and significant progress across our lending, service and technology transformation programmes.
Our mortgage lending totalled £5.0 billion, with nearly half of new lending going to first time buyers. March alone saw 2,700 completions, driven by demand ahead of Stamp Duty changes. Our Income Plus range continued to open doors for aspiring homeowners, helping more than 900 first time buyers access higher loan-to-income options.
For brokers, we know speed and consistency matter. In 2025, we reduced the average mortgage application to offer time by 15.4% (compared to 2024), now under 11 days, helping lift our broker loyalty and satisfaction.
We continue to invest in technology to enhance broker and colleague experience. Meanwhile, financially, we reported £198.6 million profit before tax for the year, strengthening our resilience for the future.
As competition intensifies and the economic outlook remains uncertain, we’re entering 2026 with confidence - backed by a strong balance sheet, a committed team of colleagues and continued investment to help us support you and your clients.
