Your ISA transfer options

Before you transfer an ISA to us

Check with your existing provider that your ISA can be transferred.
Have the name of your existing provider ready, as well as the ISA account number and sort code, or roll number (if applicable).
Find out your ISA’s maturity date (if you have one and it hasn’t already matured).
Check the amount you’ve paid into your ISA this tax year to make sure you're within your annual limit. You’ll need to transfer that amount.
Remember, transfers take up to 15 working days for cash ISAs and 30 calendar days for stocks and shares ISAs.

Transfer my ISA to Leeds Building Society from another ISA provider

Online

First, you'll need to open a Leeds Building Society cash ISA to transfer your money into. Then, you'll need to complete an ISA transfer form.

You’ll need to do the same thing when you transfer a stocks and shares ISA you have with another provider to one of our cash ISAs. Don’t forget, you can only transfer the full balance, not just part of it.

Fund from a non-Leeds Building Society account to my Leeds Building Society cash ISA

You’ll firstly need to check your ISA's terms and conditions to check if it still accepts funds. If you’re still not sure, just get in touch with us.

Transferring from your other account

Log into your account and send us a secure message, or visit us in branch if you have a non-online account. You can also write to us. In your letter, please include:

The account number you want to transfer money from.
The account number you want to transfer money to.
The amount you want to transfer.

And you’ll need to sign the letter within the withdrawal period on the original account.

Withdrawals/transfers to non-ISA accounts

If you withdraw money from a Leeds Building society ISA account or transfer money from an ISA to a non-ISA account, the money you withdraw will lose its tax-free status. You'll also lose that part of your ISA allowance.

Transferring from your other cash ISA

Log into your account and send us a secure message, or visit us in branch if you have a non-online account. You can also write to us. In your letter, please include:

Details about the cash ISA product you want to transfer to.
Confirmation you've read and understand the terms and conditions of the new account.

Transfer my Leeds Building Society cash ISA to another ISA provider

You'll need to contact your new provider to start the transfer. We'll then transfer the funds within five working days of receiving their transfer request.
