Parks and open spaces are at the heart of our communities
If you like nothing better than being out and about in your local park or green space, you’re not alone… Recent findings from Leeds Building Society reveal that as a nation, we Brits love our local community spaces. What’s more, we really appreciate just how important they are to our wellbeing and sense of community. The figures below tell their own story and illustrate what a valuable role our open spaces play in people’s everyday lives.
Helping parkrun go even further
Up and down the country, parkrun is using these local spaces to bring communities closer and help keep people physically active. By supporting them, we help parkrun stay free for everyone. We’re also going that one step further to make the most of local open spaces by offering funding and volunteer support, through our Community Reward Scheme, to projects that help improve local parkrun communities.
Why not see what we can do for you?
So if you’re a registered parkrunner – and want to make the most of your local space – why not find out what our Community Reward Scheme can do for you?
